Phishing is one of the branches of cybercrime that is becoming more widespread and often occurs nowadays.
No matter how we try to avoid it, this phishing method is getting more and more cunning so that in the end we can’t be sure which one is right and which one is wrong.
Because of that, Infosec tries to provide ways methods for us to identify which one is true and which one is wrong.
The Domain Name is Misspelled
If a domain name has been registered with one such organization, other people do not have the opportunity to register with the same domain name.
For example below, scammers try to deceive us by registering a domain name that is similar to the original organization’s domain name.
As we already know the domain name of the organization is office.com, the scammer tries to hide it by registering the domain name offivce.com as if it looks like the original domain name
As we can see above if we place the cursor on the link it will display the address of the link that is not directly related to the domain name of the organization.
From there, we can already guess that this email is a phishing email.
